Plum Run Hunt

The names Reflection, Scandal, Cavalier, Garden party, Spot-Lite, Scamp, Talbert, Poetic Justice, Special Effects, Stretch Limo, Chocolate, Vixen, Moe, Phyllis, and Classic Tune are names well known in the hunt field. These horses have hunted with Plum Run, New Market-Middletown, Potomac, Goshen, Middleburg, Green Spring, Fairfax, Loudon, Rosetree, Beaufort, and Marlboro Hunt Club. Many of these horses began hunting while still quite green and had no problems with the hustle and bustle of a "good day".

After year of seeing the talent and temperament of our "Wap-Paloosas", Suzy Reingold, joint master of the Plum Run Hunt, purchased a green two year old from us in August of 1990 by the name of Wap's Standing Ovation, aka "Elton John" (pictured above). "Elton", was chosen several times to represent the Plum Run Hunt during Hunt Night at the Penn National and Washington International Horse Shows while exhibiting the Plum Run hounds. "Elton" was hunted by Robert Dougherty, joint master of Plum Run and huntsman, until the fall of 1998 when an eye injury prevented him from being able to perform as a huntsman's horse. JG repurchased Standing Ovation after his injury and have had many enjoyable hunts with him since then.
