It is with great sadness that on Sunday November 15, 2009 Virginia Hood passed away. She was a true Horse Woman who had a vision, and that vision is the "Waps". Virginia will be greatly missed.

Welcome to JG Appaloosa Sport Horses.
We have been successfully breeding and showing appaloosas in open competition, dominated by thoroughbreds and warmbloods, since the mid 1960's. Our "Waps" became a force to be reckoned with in the sport horse industry over 25 years ago.
We have bred and raised National and/or World Champions in AHSA (USA Equestrian), USDF, and ApHC competition.
Our "Waps" have WON their classes and/or divisions at the Washington International, Pennsylvania National, Upperville, Devon, Warrenton, Capital Challenge, Cosequin Invitational, etc... as well as several Hunter Futurities. Our Stallions have won the Get of Sire class at the Maryland State Fair 15 times! They have NEVER been beaten in Get of Sire by another Appaloosa. Our "Waps" have earned the recognition and respect of judges, trainers, and breeders nationwide as well as in completion abroad.
Others have followed in our hoof prints...and are now reaping the rewards.
Wap's Spot 2 and his son, Wap's Reflection have done more to influence the breeding and showing of Appaloosa Sport Horses in recognized AHSA and USDF competition then any other Appaloosa stallion.
Wap's Spot 2 began showing in open hunter competition in 1975. His offspring were and are winning on the line, under saddle, and over fences from the late 70's to the present. Wap's Reflection began competing in 1985.
Other stallions have tried to take credit for founding this line of sport horses. Don't be fooled, check the dates for yourself. They weren't even born yet, much less siring offspring...

At JG, we know there is much more to an Appaloosa sport horse than simply a pretty spotted hide. The quality of the offspring from our highly selective breeding program speaks for itself. Knowledge, experience and a clear head, to see past marketing promises are a buyer's best tools for making an informed and intelligent decision when choosing a sire or making a purchase....
Our stallions consistently produce big, beautiful moving talented offspring with quiet, willing dispositions, making them very trainable and eager to please. Most offspring mature 16 - 17 hands, even out of 14.2 hand mares.
Our Confidence in our stallions' prepotency has allowed us to offer the same "UNCONDITIONAL GUARANTEE" that we instituted in the early 1980's:
If for ANY reason you are dissatisfied with your foal, JG Appaloosas will breed the mare back FREE, (excluding any veterinary, mare care, or shipping charges), during the current years breeding season or return the breeding fee. The mare owner has the choice of rebreeding or refund. The mare owner must notify JG Appaloosas within 30 days of foaling if impending return and deliver the unsatisfactory foal to the farm at time of weaning.

It has come to our attention that some misconceptions exist as to the relationship between our stallion, Wap's Spot 2, and a stallion named Wap Spotted, which we do not own. Perhaps it is due to the numeral "2" in his name. The "2" was for double bred Wapiti. We assure you:
Wap's Spot 2 Is THE founding sire of the entire "Wap" dynasty of Sport Horses!
Every "Wap" Sport Horse descends directly from this stallion!
NONE of our horses are by Wap Spotted!
