Bred by: JG Appaloosa Sport horses New Owner: Patti Pierce
"CONGRATULATIONS" Patti Pierce, South Carolina
Patti Reports Fall 2003: "Midas is an absolute joy! He has a wonderful, willing attitude and an amazing work ethic. he is in training with Sandy Bussey, a professional dressage trainer at Middleton Equestrian Center. he is her star pupil and will no doubt be competitive at the upper levels. Sandy has an active show schedule planned for Midas staring this spring"
Report from new owner, Patti Pierce, winter 2002/2003: He is going just great. He is such a sweetheart. I go in the paddock with him just to play. He follows me around everywhere wanting me to scratch him. He gets a kick out of pulling my hat off and untying my shoes when I have my head turned. He loves to sunbathe on the warm afternoons.
He has no fear whatsoever about jumping 2 ft. He would jump higher, except that I am waiting until he goes into training next week. I want to start him very carefully and under the watchful eye of a professional.
I've been working with him every day. Its been in the upper 50's and 60's here - just right for riding. Mostly, we've just been exploring the property. We ride around all the tractors and farm equipment and up and down the fence lines. He looks at everything, but doesn't shy. I've been working him on the lunge line as well. He is responding well to voice commands. We are doing some sacking out work with ropes, slickers, and any other weird looking thing I can find around the place. I drape the stuff all over him and let him stand there. He couldn't care less.
I am considering hanging a sign on his stall that reads "No, he is not a Warmblood". Everybody asks.

GATOR
Congratulations to Mary Hofmann on the purchase of Gator. This colt was born April 13, 2001. Already 16 hands at 18 months old. Should mature 16.3+ hands. Gator is a solid bay, lots of bone and substance and a super mover. Very correct and friendly.
Sire: Waps Spot Dam: Waps Chantress (Wap's Reflection X TB)

"Shroom", colt born 05/05/02. Bay, large blanket with spots, flashing on all four legs, star shaped like a mushroom.
Sire: Wap Spot Dam: Waps Chantress (Wap's Reflection X TB.)
Congratulations to Kelly Lyons, Mass. on the purchase of Shroom. Shroom is a tall, leggy colt. Very typy, very long neck, and should mature at least 16.2+, maybe near 17 hands. He is a full brother to "Gator" who is already at 16hands at 18 months old, and he was a first foal! Shroom should be very competitive in the hunters or dressage. His dam, Wap's Chantress is by Wap's Reflection and out of a TB mare. We kept her for our brood mare band and this is her second foal.

Congratulations to Scott Stewart, Flemington, NJ. on the purchase of this tremendous colt by Wap's Reflection, out of Wap's Confetti. This colt won the Foal Class at Boumi Temple show and placed 3rd. our of 18 entries at Upperville. He is currently leading MHSA in Foals. We will enjoy watching him with Scott in the Hunters in years to come.

JULES
Waps Jules is now at his new home in Belgium with his new "parents", Rik & Aida Van Den Berghe. Jules was a birthday present for Aida and arrived in time for the party. At just 10 1/2 months old, Jules left Biglerville, Pa. at 3pm, Thursday 04/10/03 and arrived in Belgium at 1:30pm, Saturday, 04/13/03.
The Van Den Berghes will be continuing our breeding program in Europe. Since Jules is a snow cap, and I believe has "sky eyes", he will be homozygous.
Jules is by "Wap Spot" and out of "Waps Malaika". Waps Malaika is a daughter of Wap's Reflection out of Fergie, our super TB mare. Injured as a yearling, she was not shown. Even though she is not quite sound she is still a super mover. Her daughter, Stock Wapchen, a dark bay blanketed filly by Wap's Spot 2, is now in dressage training in Washington. Her son Waps Millennium, a loud grulla colt by Wap's Spot 2 is standing at stud at JG Appaloosa Sport Horses. To all of our contact in Europe, Jules will be available for breeding in the future. Congratulations to Rik and Aida and we wish you all the success with this colt. Jerry and Virginia.
